I came back from a recent girls trip to Mykonos with half a dozen mosquito bites on my face. Full on panic mode set in. I set about on a mission to save my skin. I assembled a skin routine and stuck to it and I’m happy to say four weeks later and my skin looks even better than the pre bite fiasco.
Every night I would use The Body Shop Aloe Multi Use Soothing Gel. I actually used this as a sleep mask. It cooled the itching sensation right down and stopped me subconsciously itching through the night.
I then applied both The Body Shop Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask or The Bodyshop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask every two to three days. I found these just gave my skin that little bit of extra TLC. The honey mask was particularly good at soothing inflammation and reducing redness.
I moisturised using good old Certraban. Is there nothing this cream cannot do?! After the initial redness had died down I switched back to my usual The Bodyshop Vitamin E Moisturiser. This is great is you suffer from dry or sensitive skin.
Once the bite marks began to fade I went back to washing my face before bed with my Foreo Luna Mini and The Bodyshop Vitamin C Daily Glow Cleaning Polish. I would then apply The Bodyshop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil. Oils like these are a life line if you struggle with dry skin. Applying the oil before bed really gives it a chance to be absorbed and work its magic. You wake up with beautifully supple skin.
