Retinol is raved about. A supposed. must have in your skin care routine. Retinoids are proven to promote skin cell renewal, unclog pores and even your complexion. Ultimately they are thought to boast anti ageing properties. That being said I had to try the raved about Pixi Retinol Tonic.
I’ve been using this tonic for a number of weeks. I apply it using a cotton pad once a day after cleansing. I love the fact that Pixie has two sizes available. A 100ml priced at £10 and a 250ml at £18. The retinol tonic is gentle on the skin so perfect if you have sensitive skin. It has a mild almost flowery scent but nothing overpowering or unpleasant.
This isn’t one of those products where you use it once and think wow my skin looks great. It’s a slow burner. However, over a number of weeks I have definitely noticed I have suffered from less break outs and my skin has a natural glow to it. I’m struggling to think of a negative. As a side note the re generation of skin cells does mean you need to be vigilant about incorporating SPF into your daily makeup. This isn’t too much of an issue as I think most makeup brands are pretty good about including this as an ingredient in their foundation these days.
Pros– brighter, healthier looking skin. Less breakouts and key anti ageing properties. Affordable with a travel sized version available.
Cons– you need to remember that all important SPF!
Worth the hype– I have noticed a visible improvement in my skin so for all those skin care lovers out there, this is definitely worth your coin!
