Worth the Hype? Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I cannot believe I have waited so long to own the Benefit Hoola bronzer. I’m not entirely sure why I’ve never owned it. Perhaps because it doesn’t really appeal to me as a staple bronzer. But I finally caved and recently purchased a travel sized version which has joined me on my trip to Morocco.

Straight away, I would say this wouldn’t work for me as traditional bronzer. I’m fairly yellow toned in complexion and heavily rely on bronzer to add warmth to my face. However, this is a phenomenal contour powder.

The Benefit Hoola bronzer comes with a rectangular shaped brush that perfectly moulds to hollows of your cheeks. It’s a beautiful cool mid tone brown, thus makes for the ideal contour shade for fair to medium skin tones.

I’m not a huge fan of Benefit packaging. While I understand Benefit is known for its quirky packaging, I think I would expect slightly sturdier packaging for the £26 price tag. I personally prefer a standard compact with a mirror in the lid. That being said, I do like the fact you can purchase a mini version. Perfect for travel and much more affordable at £13. Benefit is also widely available in stores and online.

I’ve also heard Hoola is now available in a lighter shade for fairer skin tones ( Hoola Lite). I love that Benefit as a brand is trying to be all inclusive.

Pro- perfect for contour, inbuilt rectangular brush, comes in mini travel sized version, readily available, and lighter shade available.

Cons- slightly more expensive and dislike the packaging.

Worth the hype? I personally love this product for contour and it has earned its cult status in my makeup collection.
