Valentines Reds

Keeping with the Valentines theme, and because it’s literally everywhere at the moment, I thought I would give you my thoughts on some of my fave red lippies out there.

Budget friendly- L’Oréal Riche Exclusive Reds Collection (£6.99)

Is it just me that thinks these lipsticks have the most awful smell? If you can get over that hurdle though, the pigmentation is quite good for the drug store. I have the Eva red which is a slightly darker toned red. True to their word this particular collection boasts four slightly different toned reds so your bound to find your fit.

Glam-Fenty Stunna Lip Paint (£19)

RiRi has certainly hit the mark with her makeup line. The packaging of this lipstick is worth a buy alone. It almost looks like a really sleek nail polish bottle. Let’s not forget the sculpted applicator that doubles as a liner and liquid lipstick in one smooth motion. Ri Ri claims this is a universal red. While I think no color can be truly universal, this bright almost blue toned red would definitely suit a lot of people. It makes an impact. However I personally found it require a fair bit of tweaking and can start to look messy.

Mac Morange (£17.50)

Of course not everyone is comfortable wearing such a statement lip, or red simply isn’t their color. Mac is great because they have many lipsticks which are a subtle take on red. Morange is a muted orange toned red. As well as being great for the summer, it can easily be an easy alternative to that red.

Which reds have you been loving?
