Is it just me or is finding a mascara that works for you one of the biggest challenges in life? I’ve been through more mascaras than I care to admit to. I don’t know if falsies have given me unrealistic expectations but I still havnt found ” the one”. To make your search a little easier I thought I’d run through some of the tried and tested. (For reference I have fairly long lashes but they easily clump together and are a bit sparse due to my mild addiction with Becca lashes).
This started off so strong! It has a fairly thick wand and the product itself is quite thick. I would say this adds volume but doesn’t do much to separate or lengthen. It also starts to dry out fairly quickly and clumps like there’s no tomorrow. It’s a no from me.
This is so hyped amongst beauty lovers. The unique dip in the middle wand gives your lashes a lift. But again, I found it has a very thick wand and ends up clumping you’re lashes together.
This actually reminds me a lot of the Too Faced Better then Sex mascara. It similarly has a biggish wand and although it does add drama, and is certainly not bad for a drug store mascara, it doesn’t do much to lengthen or separate your lashes.
I actually quite liked this L’Oréal offering. I bought this because the infamous telescopic maraca (which by the way I’ve never tried) wasn’t in stock. I was impressed enough to repurchase this a couple of times. It has slim wand and overall thinner solution. I find this combination works better for me as it coats lashes and lengthens, while helpfully not glueing your lashes together.
This is hands down my favourite out of the bunch. The only drawback is that it’s not exactly budget friendly. As mascara is an everyday makeup item I find this little splurge does add up. Saying that this does exactly what it claims. It separates, lengthens and lifts those lashes. My lashes have honestly never looked so healthy. I think I’m gonna to have to invest in the Benefit They’re Real version next.
So there you have it. A quick run down of the my tried, and mostly failed, mascaras 🙂
I’d love to hear your thoughts 🙂
