The key to any flawless makeup look is a good base. Prep, prep and more prep basically. This obviously involves a good skin care routine, however this post will focus on the makeup side for now 🙂
Step1 – Color Correct
I’ve seen a whole host of funky colors on YouTube but the only one I really use is orange. This is going to be your best friend for hiding those dark circles and areas of dark pigmentation. I use the Mac prep and prime highlighter in peach lustre daily under my under eyes, and blend it using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.
This all depends on what finish you want. I love to look glowy. For this reason I use the L’Oreal lumisning primer and I swear by it. Having tried a lot of the high end luminising primer, this by far is the best value for money.
Again this depends on what kind of look you prefer. I have very dry skin and full coverage foundations have a habit of drying it out more. Winter is also not kind to matte foundations or dry skin. I recommend a lightweight alternative such as the Giorgio Arminian Luminous Silk which is amazing. I’m also looking to invest in the Bobbi brown BB cream.
Step 4- Contour
Now is the time to chisel those cheek bones. I use the L’Oreal Shape Stick in the shade 220. Where contour is concerned you can think outside the box. The Loreal Shape Stick is actually a foundation, but works well for me. I follow the outline of my jaw temples and cheeks. I blend this in using the Real Techniques flat contour brush.
Step 5- Bake
This is a step I’ve incorporated into my routine fairly recently. It brightens those under eyes and works with the contour to create the illusion of cheekbones. I use the Huda Beauty Easy Bake powder in the shade banana bread. Her range is brilliant as it has shades and undertones to suit a variety of skin tones. I tend to use a small fluffy brush to apply this, but I can be done just as easily with a sponge or beauty blender.
