We’re not quite at the end of the year yet but I think I’m firmly in the position to give you my must have items of the year. I’ve tried to include something in every category 🙂
Foundation- Bobbi Brown Stick Foundation ( £32)
My standout foundation of the year has to be the Bobbi Brown foundation stick. This is a medium coverage foundation. Completely buildable. Best of all, this will be your travel buddy. It’s slim, transportable, not a liquid ( win when your going through that hospital struggle) and lasts very well in heat and humidity.
Primer- L’Oréal Luminising Primer (£8.99)
I have tried many high end so called dewy primers out there. Let me tell you, this little high street diamond tops them all.The L’Oréal luminising primer actually deposits a silver sheen all over the desire area making any foundation you use glow.
Eyeshadow- The Urban Decay Born to Run Palette (£39.50)
If you buy one eyeshadow palette this year, let it be this one. Although Urban Decay have somewhat disappointed me with there latest releases, this has been their saving grace. It boasts 21 pigments. Again, this is perfect for travel because it has your transitions, neutrals as well as your more bold shades. I must have tried every shade in this palette at some point and they are creamy, pigmented with very little fall out. It also has a gigantic mirror for those on the go moments.
Setting powder- Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder (£28)
Huda takes it in this catergory. Not only do I love the scent of this product( think cake shop meets flowery, but it’s not overpowering), but I love that Huda has included so many different shades to suit all skin tones and undertones. It’s the first time I’ve seen a setting powder come with so many different finishes. I own the shade Banana bread to brighten those under eyes. This powder is finely milled and sets like a dream. You also get a lot of product for your money. I’m not going to lie, I thought you got more than the Laura Mercier Setting Powder because the square pot looks bigger and has a bit of weight to it. Alas i was wrong. On investigation Huda gives you 20g versus Laura Merciers 29 g so maybe not as great as I initially thought.
Glow spray- Pixie Glow Mist (£16)
This was an impulse buy on a Cult Beauty shopping day and it was love at first spray. I have tried many setting sprays but I find this works the best for me. It gives you a glow without adding any additional weird glitter.
Lipliner- Rimmel lipliner in Cappuccino(£2.99)
This is an oldie but a goodie. This lipliner is literally paired with 75% of my looks over on BeautybyRaji. It’s the perfect brown. It’s also very pigmented and non drying, Especially for a drug store lipliner. With a price tag of £2.99 who can complain??
Lipstick- Huda Beauty Demi-Matte Liquid Lipstick (£18)
Huda wins it again. This is honestly the first liquid lipstick that is not drying on the lip. Perhaps the trick is that it isn’t a matte finish. I don’t know. But it’s such a comfortable wear. Plus I love the woman empowerment names given to these gems ( I own the shade SheEO).
Highlight- Ofra Blissful mini (£10) Mac Soft and Gentle (25.50)
This is without a doubt my favourite catergory. I think there are two joint winners for me. Firstly, I was addicted to my Ofra blissful highlighter. It comes in a miniature and I used this religiously. I then purchased the Mac Sofr and gentle recently from duty free and love it just as much. This is actually market as a blush. It adds a soft subtle glow and is perfect for every day wear. I wouldn’t say it’s a blush though.
Lashes- Becca Lashes (£4.99)
My addiction to falsies has been renewed and I now have a stash of lashes for any occasion. My favourite have to be Becca Lashes. They offer a range of mink lashes for £4.99 a pop. There are honestly amazing quality and very reasonably priced. My favourite so far as Bad Assy but there is anew Christmas range coming out that I can’t wait to try. I also have a discount code over on my Instagram for anyone interested 🙂
So there you have it. A quick run down of what I’ve been reaching for time and time again. Let me know what products you’ve been loving 🙂
Disclaimer-I have been lucky enough to be sent a range of lashes from BeccaLashesUK. However, this is not an affiliate link and I would never work with a product or brand I wasn’t completely satisfied with myself. I also am a big believer in supporting smaller businesses.
