I’m an avid collector of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. If you don’t own them, you need to. I own the original Naked, Naked 3, Naked Heat, Naked on the Run and the Naked Ultimate Basics. (I won’t talk too much about the Naked Ultimate Basics as I did a recent post on it).
This is without a doubt one of my favourite palettes to ever have been made . It contains 12 bronze-golden shades and is basically perfect for creating a smokey or nude eye . I also find the pigment of this particular palette out of this world .No matter what look I’m attempting to create I always find myself reaching for the shade Sin for an inner corner highlight or Sidecar to add a bit of sparkle. Like with all the Urban Decay palettes it comes with a brush, but this is nothing to write home about. It also comes in velvet style casing with a rectangular mirror inside. Although this looks pretty it can get a bit dirty and the mirror is fairly pointless. However it is slim and easily transportable.
Naked three comes in a tin like packaging which I don’t hate but I don’t love either. It’s in that weird in between zone. It hosts 12 rose featured tones which could be used to create that rose gold eye. I have to say this is probably one of my least favourite palettes. I have found a lot of the shades look pretty in the pan but are difficult to pull off with my complexion.
I am in love with this palette. I love everything about it. The fire themed packaging, how sturdy it is, the shade choice. The list could go on all day. Urban decay are completely on trend with this one. It contains 12 eyeshadows ranging from warm browns to crimsons to deeper burgundy hues. It is perfect for creating that crimson eye. I also feel like the formula of these pigments is similar to that of the original Naked palette . Much creamier and easier to blend than some in the middle offerings. This is my standout palette of last year . The only thing I would say it’s missing if I had to be really picky is a good inner corner highlight shade. I cannot wait until the Naked Petite is released!
Naked on the Run
In all honesty I completely forgot I even own this palette. I think that says it all. This is not a true Urban Decay eyeshadow palette in my opinion because it also contains a blusher, bronzer and highlighter. It does include five nude-bronze based eyeshadow shades but I can’t even remember the last time I reached for these. This has to be my least utilised palette full stop and one I don’t think anyone really needs in their collection.
Overall, I love the Naked palettes and will continue to purchase more in the future 🙂
